William's Great-Great-Grandfather's Library

I love this picture! William is sitting on a window seat in his Great-Great-Grandfather's library while reading one of the antique books in the collection. This mansion (erected in 1916) not only still stands in Lincoln, NE, but it has been converted into a beautiful B&B called The Rogers House. We stayed in the Doctor's Suite (fitting ;) ) while passing through Lincoln on our way to Colorado. This building is in great shape and it was a true treasure to stay in this magnificent home.

Cuddled-up on the sofa

Karagen on the sofa cuddled under her new favorite quilt that Grandma Jan made her for her 13th birthday. She takes it with her to all of her slumber parties and on our road trip to Colorado last summer. I put this close-up shot on the blog becasue I believe it shows best many of the fine details and the colorful fabric. Quilted with lots of love!

Fro Yo on a cold night...

It always amazes me how people love ice cream and frozen yogurt even when its 40 degrees outside. What's up with that? This bunch of kiddos got together after a WCA varsity football game and decided to snuggle with some Fro Yo. Michael Weston, the only guy in this photo(next to Karagen in the very center of the photo), is in the middle of all of these girls and he looks miserable doesn't he? They all love him...

Colorado - Missouri Football

Fall 2010 big game. Angie Rose, Mariah, William, and Dave Rose. We all drove out to Columbia and met Dave & Angie's sons(both attending Mizzou at the time) for dinner before the game.

Halloween 2010

Karagen attended Mary's annual theme Halloween party. In 2010 the theme was Ladies of Disney. Can you guess the characters?

Any given evening...

The house of contemplation~ We love our front room for it's fireplace, so many evenings you will find at least one of us there with a book or a computer. This is also a favorite place for doing homework. As you can see, our animals like it too! :)

You can take the man out of Colorado, but you can't take Colorado out of the man!

William walking home from his office through our beautiful neighborhood. When we were making plans for the move to MO from CO, I asked William what he most wanted in our new home...he replied "A short commute to work!" Nothing better than being able to walk there, I thought. In this picture, he is wearing his new birthday present- a hiking backpack from REI. He carries his laptop, books, food, and who knows what else in there. It brings him joy...
